Getting to Treasure by the Sea Resort will be a big part of the adventure. It is about 100 KM to the south in Cabo Corrientes. You can get there by land or water.
There are a few different ways that you can get to Treasure by the Sea Resort.
1. Water Taxi from Boca
Boca de Tomatlan is a small fishing village about 20 KM south of Puerto Vallarta and you can get there by taxi or Uber for about $15 to $20 USD per car from Puerto Vallarta.
There are 2 daily water taxis that depart from Boca de Tomatlan.

Do not be late, as these boats leave on time and get quite full in the morning. It is recommended for your comfort, if possible, to bring a pillow to sit on, as it is a 1-hour ride on a bench.
The ride to Chimo is beautiful, as the coastline is amazing. Chimo is about 15 minutes past Yelapa, and it is most likely you will be the last passengers because they leave most of the passengers in Yelapa.
The cost for this water taxi is $220 pesos. (about 11 USD).
Once arriving in Chimo the water taxi will transfer you into a large canoe and they will row you directly onto the beach. It is a really cool way to get there. These guys have been taking people in this way for 30 years as their livelihood and they have never had an incident, so you are completely safe. They also take care of all your bags and get them to the beach with you. The cost for this transportation is an additional $20 pesos per person.
2. Travel By Land
Chimo is about a 3-hour drive from Puerto Vallarta through the mountains and then through the town of El Tuito.
There are many fine restaurants in el Tuito. If you are driving, you might stop and have breakfast or lunch in the square in El Tuito, or possibly Mario’s Patio which is just across from the police station
This is also the last town you will find grocery items, liquors, or cigarettes. There is one store in Chimo but they run out of items often so do not depend on anything from there.
If you are on the all-inclusive plan then do not worry, Norma will have everything you need except smokes and toiletry items. Please contact us if you have any specific needs.
3. Contact Us for Private Transportation
We can arrange private transportation from Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Vallarta or anywhere else.
